Sometimes, when words fail us, our hands take over. They talk, tell stories. As we age, when our words or bodies can't keep up, other hands take over. Through small daily gestures, nursing home staff in the Parisian suburbs care for residents' physical needs as much as they act as a vessel to receive their memories, one last time, before they fade away. Over the course of a manicure, a caregiver and a resident meet again, like friends from another life. One listens, the other tells: a family, a boat, the passage of time, and the growing solitude of old age.
